Transformación de la condolencia en la era digital: un estudio de caso sobre la cultura turca

El propósito de este artículo es demostrar la práctica de condolencias de los inmigrantes digitales en Turquía. Aunque las tecnologías de los medios digitales amplían las oportunidades y las redes de comunicación, también provocan cambios en las relaciones sociales entre las personas. La comunicación versátil se ha hecho posible gracias a las tecnologías de los medios digitales en contraposición a la comunicación no interactiva o unilateral de los medios convencionales. Hoy en día, es posible enviar un mensaje a decenas de personas con un solo clic. Como tal, se observan nuevas actitudes y comportamientos en la sociedad junto con las posibilidades de desarrollo de los medios digitales. La hipótesis del estudio es que "los inmigrantes digitales que usan plataformas de redes sociales en Turquía han experimentado un cambio en la práctica de las condolencias". En este sentido, se discute el énfasis puesto en los cambios en las prácticas de condolencia que ocurren en Turquía junto con las nuevas tecnologías de Internet. Realizamos entrevistas con 15 participantes entre las edades de 52 y 69 años entre abril y junio de 2020. Según los hallazgos, vemos que muchos de los participantes adoptan prácticas tradicionales de condolencia, pero no desvalorizan las prácticas de condolencia que ocurren en las redes sociales. Observamos que las prácticas de condolencia digital han comenzado a coexistir con las prácticas de condolencia tradicional, pero este cambio no debe percibirse como que la tradicional comienza a borrarse o desaparecer.
