Imágenes bajo la mirada de John Ruskin. Un acercamiento

Resumen
El objetivo de este artículo es proponer una visión del valor que John Ruskin atribuía al arte y a la imagen. Para ello, más que su faceta de crítico de arte, consideraré su trabajo como artista aficionado y profesor de arte para presentar los valores intrínsecos de las obras producidas por las artes clásicas (a los efectos de este texto: pintura y dibujo). También discutiré el valor y el uso que Ruskin le atribuyó a la fotografía, un medio que nació en el siglo XIX y fue ampliamente discutido como perteneciente a las artes. Al hacerlo, esbozaré brevemente algunos de los pilares de su teoría estética y crítica, imperceptiblemente entretejidos en sus proyectos de vida y su trabajo como profesor de dibujo, junto con sus consideraciones sobre la fotografía.Palabras clave
