Del género al etiquetado interseccional. La perspectiva de los periodistas políticos rusos y suecos sobre los mecanismos de discriminación y promoción en el contenido de los medios.

Este artículo propone estudiar los fenómenos de género en el periodismo político desde la perspectiva de la interseccionalidad (Davis, 2008; McCall, 2005) para comprender el género en el marco de otros mecanismos discriminatorios y de promoción en las noticias políticas. El género se entiende como la huella percibida del género en la representación mediática de la política y los políticos, así como los procesos mediante los cuales se materializan las representaciones mediáticas de género (Voronova, 2014). El documento se basa en cuarenta entrevistas semiestructuradas con periodistas políticos que trabajan para la prensa de calidad en Rusia y Suecia. La elección de los países está impulsada por el deseo de explorar las dificultades y similitudes de las conceptualizaciones de los periodistas sobre el género y otros mecanismos discriminatorios y de promoción en dos contextos políticos y culturales muy diferentes. El documento muestra que los periodistas de ambos países destacan la importancia no solo de la incorporación de la perspectiva de género, sino también de la diversidad en el contenido como un valor democrático, donde el género se encuentra en la misma fila con otras categorías que marcan la diferencia (como la etnicidad, la sexualidad, etc.) . El documento destaca las dificultades y contradicciones a las que se enfrentan los periodistas políticos rusos y suecos al tratar de lograr su ideal de diversidad. El trabajo sugiere una definición de etiquetado interseccional en el periodismo político, y plantea que se trata de un proceso ambiguo, que puede ser discriminatorio o promotor, según sus manifestaciones. Además, su aplicación es contextual y está relacionada con la visión de los periodistas sobre la ética, los beneficios comerciales de la organización de los medios y la libertad de prensa.Palabras clave
