Insufficient information in Western coverage of African news

Abstract
The misrepresentation of Africa in the Western media is a classic issue that began many centuries ago and continues to this day. In the following work, we seek to carry out a critical study of the way in which the African continent is reported today. We rely on the agenda-setting model. The latter aims to analyze how Africa is reported in the Western media, what margin of coverage it has, what type of information predominates, what lexicon is used when reporting and what type of sources is used when covering these news. For this, an inductive method has been used, based on several research papers by different authors. Keywords
