Abstract

The objective of this research is to examine and describe the use of social media as a public relations strategy of think tanks to have a presence in the processes of public policy implementation. For this, think tanks located in political transformation processes such as Asian think tanks are going to be analyzed. The results indicate that the majority (62.5%) have implemented digital strategies to establish relationships with their stakeholders: politicians, scientists, journalists and citizens. These include web pages and social networks. Given that the degree of implementation of digital strategies can vary considerably, a general model for assessing interactivity has been chosen, which allows for the construction of a benchmark of the degree of implementation of digital communication by these organizations.
