Infographic: Where is the knowledge that was lost with the information?

Abstract
It is only necessary to analyze the words infographic or data visualization in Google Trends to realize the prominence they are taking. Although the concept of infographics is quite old itself, nowadays it has become popular and massive. It is said that infographics consists of "transforming information into knowledge". But, can knowledge really be transferred in a visual way? Do current infographics offer a synthesis of knowledge? Is there any process to create infographics that facilitate the transmission of knowledge? Exploring an approach to these questions is the objective of this paper.Keywords
